EARLY RSVP

We know the celebration is still a little way off, but if you're able to RSVP now, it would really help us with planning.

TRAVEL

Borgo Bastia Creti is nestled in the Umbrian hills near Umbertide, offering a peaceful countryside setting for the celebrations.

AIRPORTS

  • Rome Fiumicino (FCO) – ~2.5 hours by car
Best for most international flights from the U.S.

  • Florence (FLR) – ~2 hours by car
Smaller airport with some European connections.

  • Perugia (PEG) – ~45 minutes by car
Closest airport, with limited flights (best for internal EU connections).

  • Pisa (PSA) – ~2.5 hours by car
    Good for European low-cost airlines.

GETTING AROUND

We highly recommend renting a car for flexibility during your stay, as Borgo Bastia Creti is in a rural location without direct public transport.

CAR HIRE OPTIONS

  • Major providers like Avis, Hertz, Europcar, and Sixt are available at all airports.

  • Be sure to book an automatic car early, as they’re limited in Italy.

TRANSFERS

If you'd rather not drive private transfers or taxis can also be arranged through local services from Perugia or Umbertide.

🇮🇹 Italy Travel Tips for U.S. Guests

  • Passport Validity: Must be valid for at least 6 months after your travel dates.

  • Currency: Euros (€); credit cards are widely accepted, but carry some cash for rural spots.

  • Plugs: Italy uses type C, F, or L plugs (230V). You’ll need a European adapter.

  • Driving: Right-hand side of the road. International Driving Permit (IDP) is technically required to rent a car.

  • Tipping: Not expected like in the U.S., but rounding up or leaving a few euros is appreciated.

  • Restaurants & Dining: Meals start later — dinner is often from 7:30 PM onwards. Don’t rush — meals are slow, social affairs!

  • Shops: Many close for a midday break (riposo), typically between 1–4 PM.
